Based in the company’s Houston office, Garner “Tip” Strickland is a vice president with Grandbridge Real Estate Capital LLC. Grandbridge acquired Live Oak Capital, Ltd., in December of 2008, where Mr. Strickland began as an investment analyst in 2004 before his promotion to loan origination officer. At Live Oak Capital, he was responsible for originating debt and equity transactions and arranging joint venture equity partnerships.

Prior to joining Live Oak Capital, Mr. Strickland was an investment specialist in the Houston office of Marcus & Millichap, a real estate investment brokerage firm, where he handled the acquisition of Texas property for investors nationwide. He was also responsible for the disposition of investment-grade real estate in several Texas markets, focusing primarily on office and industrial properties.

Tip also spent time with a Houston-based oilfield supply company where he was responsible for drafting and responding to RFPs. He also organized, with the engineering departments, the development of new rigging equipment specifications from the conceptual through design stage.

Mr. Strickland, a native of Houston, graduated from Texas Christian University in 1999 with a B.S. in advertising and public relations. He is a member of the ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) and an Associate CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member), and a licensed Texas real estate salesperson.
