Based in the company’s Houston office, Jim Kirkpatrick is a vice president with Grandbridge Real Estate Capital LLC. Grandbridge acquired Live Oak Capital, Ltd., in December of 2008, where, with 20-plus years of experience, Mr. Kirkpatrick also served as a vice president.

Previously, Mr. Kirkpatrick supervised and managed the Houston office of a large regional appraisal/consulting firm and was responsible for production and review of appraisals, as well as marketing and client relations. Prior to that, he served on the executive management team that was responsible for the formation, oversight and management of Bastion Asset Group, a local real estate consulting firm that, in addition to performing comprehensive real estate valuation services, also served as consultant for review and assessment of loan portfolios, loan workouts and litigation review and consultation.

Before that position, Mr. Kirkpatrick served as a vice president for San Jacinto Savings Association where his focus was on the evaluation and negotiation of troubled loans. He was responsible for negotiating and closing $100 million in restructure/workouts. Prior to San Jacinto, Mr. Kirkpatrick was a vice president and portfolio administrator for a national firm where his responsibilities included the administration of construction loans, property management, development and marketing, loan restructure and workouts, sales negotiations and approval and administration of appraisal policies and procedures.

Mr. Kirkpatrick began his real estate career as a vice president in the commercial division of a local appraisal firm where he was responsible for $1.2 million annual production.

Mr. Kirkpatrick received a B.B.A. in finance and real estate from the University of Texas in Austin. He has been designated MAI (Member Appraisal Institute) by the Appraisal Institute and CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) by the CCIM Institute. He is a licensed Texas real estate broker and a certified general real estate appraiser in the state of Texas. He is a board member of the local CCIM chapter and a ULI (Urban Land Institute) member.
