Justin Nelson joined Grandbridge Real Estate Capital under the Collateral Real Estate banner in 2007.  Prior to joining the company, Mr. Nelson was a Development Associate for Madison, Wis.-based Gorman & Company, Inc.  While at Gorman & Company, Mr. Nelson was responsible for the placement and structuring of Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) for the development of affordable multifamily housing across the Midwest.  At Gorman & Company, Inc., he successfully financed more than $100 million in developments utilizing complex public and private financial structures that included Brownfield Grants, Federal HOME funds, Municipal TIF financing as well as various “Green” initiatives.  

Mr. Nelson began his career at Grandbridge as an analyst for Senior Vice President, Jim Cope.  At Grandbridge, Mr. Nelson has structured and placed hundreds of millions of dollars of capital deployed through numerous structures including permanent financing (both forward commitments and immediate fundings), construction financing, bridge financing, mezzanine financing and equity placement.
He graduated with high honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Grasskamp Center for Real Estate with a B.B.A. in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics.  Mr. Nelson is currently an active member in several industry organizations including the Commercial Association of Realtors (CARW), NAIOP, the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).  He is also involved in several philanthropic community organizations including Junior Achievement and HOPE Schools.
