Tony Carlson is a vice president based in Grandbridge Real Estate Capital’s Minneapolis office. He began his mortgage banking career as an analyst with Grandbridge in 2005 after earning Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Real Estate and Risk Management, Insurance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Mr. Carlson is responsible for the origination of commercial loans. He is involved in every step of the process including underwriting, analysis and timely closing. He has daily contact with various capital sources, including multifamily agency lenders Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA, insurance companies and CMBS lenders. He thoroughly understands the detailed lending parameters of each investor type and works with his clients to understand their objectives and originate loans that meet each client’s needs.

Mr. Carlson originates acquisition and refinance loans secured by multifamily, retail, office and industrial properties and is part of a team that has originated more than $500 million in loans over the last several years.

Mr. Carlson received his Certificed Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 2012. He is an active member Minnesota-Dakotas chapter of CCIM, the NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP), the NAIOP Developing Leaders and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Real Estate Alumni Association (UWREAA). He was one of 10 people honored nationally in 2009 as a recipient of NAIOP’s Developing Leaders Award. He is also a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of Minnesota.
